The Conference will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Department of Croatian Language and Literature at the University of Pula. The goal of the Conference is to promote both theoretical and applied research in the field of Croatistics within Slavistics Studies, European and World Context and bring together scholars who are interested in the different topics of the Conference:
- The history of the Croatian language
- Dialectology
- Contemporary Croatian language
- Contemporary Croatian lexicography: theory and practice
- The Croatian language: communicative-pragmatic aspects of research (applied linguistics)
- Croatian as a second and foreign language
- Croatian language in an international communication
- Contrastive Researches of Croatian and other languages: linguistic and methodological aspects
- Translation in an intercultural Communication (to Slavic and from Slavic languages)
- Croatian literature within European and world literature: theory, history and modernity (Croatistics and Comparative Studies)
- Croatian language and literature teaching methods
- The experiences of the other Slavic Studies within Slavistics, European and World Context

The estimate time of presentation is 15 minutes and 5 minutes for questions / answers.
To apply theme you will need to write up to 300 words and 5 keywords in the language in which you will present your paper and fill the application form (attached). The abstract has to be sent in a Word document, font TNR, size 12, single spacing in the form: name.surname_number of section.doc (eg. ivan.horvat_6.doc). Abstract and application form has to be sent in the same e-mail as attachment to symposiumcro2015(at)unipu.hr.
The official / working languages of the Symposium are Croatian, English and Italian.
Translations at the conference will not be provided.
Book of Abstracts will be published by the beginning of symposium and distributed to presenters during registration.
After the symposium, Organizers will provide international peer-review Proceedings of the Conference.

Types of participation & fees
- Participation with abstract/paper: early bird registration fee (till June 30) EUR 100
- Participation with abstract/paper: late registration (July 01 – September 25) EUR 150
- PhD students: 70 EUR (confirmation for study to be send on the e-mail)
- Guest (participants without abstract/paper that require conference materials and certificate of attendance, closing dinner, coffee breaks and lunches): EUR 100
- Accommodation and travel expenses will be borne by the participants.
