BIOGRAPHY:
Doris Velan was born in Pula. In 2012 she graduated pedagogy at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Rijeka. Besides, she completed the specialist study of pre-school education at the Teacher Training Academy in Rijeka (she graduated in 2007). After graduation she worked in the Society “Our Children” in Pazin where she conducted many activities and projects aiming at the improvement of children and their parents’ lives’ quality. She worked in the kindergarten “Olga Ban” in Pazin as an expert associate – pedagogue, and in the kindergarten Višnjan. She also held lectures at the Nursing School in Pula. Since 2013 she has been working at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula as an external associate – assistant holding the courses Pre-School Education Theory and Games and Children. From January 2017 she has been employed as assistant in the area of social sciences, field of pedagogy. She has been publishing in specialist journals for pre-school education and she is a doctoral student at the pedagogy doctoral study at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Rijeka.
